WAVELET DECOMPOSITIONS FOR LIGO SIGNALS

General Information

• Wavelet decompositions - Daubechies db20 wavelets @ level 10
• X axis is in number of data points (time series), Y axis - linear amplitude
• Frequency of signal is divided into octave bands
• AS_Q channel is sampled at 16384 Hz, PSL_ACCX channel is sampled at 2048 Hz. AS_Q is downsampled by 8 to get 2048 Hz sampling rate and to make comparing the two signals easier. Hence the nyquist frequency is 1024 Hz, which is the maximum frequency of detail d1
• Therefore, d1 has a frequency band 512 to 1024 Hz, d2: 256 to 512 Hz and so on
• The links below show both the wavelet decomposition for full 16 seconds of the signal and also for 2 second segments of the signal.
